The Seva Distance Project (SDP) is a combined effort with the running community and Seva Fitness Academy to promote healthy long term running practices. As distance runners, our focus should be towards training methods that keep us on the road with a continual sense of progress, while at the same time training to become less injury prone.
Unfortunately, we live in a culture that often promotes aggressive gains that can’t be sustained, and can come with a heavy cost to the body over time. This approach to training can stifle many running careers before they have a chance to fully mature, and contradicts the entire idea of training for distance and endurance.
Our team consists of talented coaches, sponsored ambassadors and members like you who love to run with purpose. Across the country and the world runners share a common bond for the endurance lifestyle. This project is founded on the energy of that comradere and shared enthusiasm.
We believe with intelligent training practices we can still improve performance without sacrificing long term health and fitness. As dedicated lifetime runners we know our true finish line is death, and we believe our training should reflect that long term vision while simultaneously improving our performance over the years. SDP Ambassador Athletes and members share this core value.
